Hot dogsCrescent DoughCandy eyes (or you can use dots of mustard or ketchup for the eyes)

I made this recipe using my Cosori 5.8 quart air fryer. I placed the mummy dogs directly in the air fryer basket. If you have an air fryer with racks, you can place the dogs on a small baking or cookie sheet.

How to make air fryer mummy dogs

To begin making these mummy dogs, unfold the crescent roll dough sheet into one long piece. Cut the dough with pizza cutter or knife into ½ inch slices. It is easier to cut if you can keep the crescent sheets connected so you have one large piece of dough.  Lay the strips of dough flat and place the hot dog on top of the cut pieces of dough. Fold over and crisscross the strips, wrapping the hot dog like a mummy. Leave a small space at one end to be the mummies face, with room to add eyes. Be careful that you do not overlap the dough too much, or cut into wide strips. If the dough is too thick, it may not cook properly. To prevent the mummies from sticking, you can lightly brush olive oil on the basket or baking sheet, spray with nonstick cooking spray, or use parchment paper with holes.  Place the dogs inside air fryer basket without stacking or overlapping. Air Fry at 330 degrees Fahrenheit for 6-8 minutes until dough is golden brown. Once they are done cooking, add the candy eyes to the space left open. Serve hot.

What can I serve with my Air Fryer Mummy Dogs with?

These mummy dogs go well with anything you like to have on your hot dogs. We serve them with a small bowl of ketchup and mustard for dipping. You can also serve with a cheese sauce.

Can I use any hot dog flavor?

There are lots of flavor varieties. You can use links of chicken sausage, Italian sausage, and so many other kinds of links. Oscar Meyer has Smokies hot dogs, and hot dogs filled with cheese, for even more options.

I can’t find Crescent roll dough. What else can I use?

If you can’t find regular crescents, you can use pizza dough, flaky crescent roll dough, or crescent dough sheets. Any canned and refrigerated crescent roll dough will work.  MORE AIR FRYER RECIPES:
