It’s a great recipe for taco night, and everyone is sure to run to the dinner table! One of the best things about cooking shrimp is that there are so many great flavors. Even picky eaters will agree that these are the best shrimp tacos - and that’s a win! I actually like both fish tacos and shrimp tacos, but I do have to admit that I have a new favorite with these air fryer shrimp tacos. The tender shrimp is a great option for lettuce wraps, taco shells, and more! If you’re on the hunt for new air fryer recipes, this is it! Whip up these Mexican shrimp tacos, and let the air fryer do all the work for you! It’s the best way to have the shrimp cook in just a few minutes of time.
Ingredients:
Peeled, deveined shrimp - Save yourself some prep time with the raw shrimp and have them ready to cook. Olive oil - You could use avocado oil as well. Garlic powder - A great way to boost flavor! Paprika - Smoked paprika would be delicious, also. Chili powder - If you like some heat, this is an easy way to add it! Kosher salt - To taste. Cumin - Ground cumin is the best. Small flour or corn tortillas - Either option works just fine to use as warm tortillas.
Cream Sauce:
Mayonnaise - Adds creaminess to the sauce. Siracha sauce - Like Huy Fong Siracha. This is the best way to add some heat! Fresh lime juice - Just a little bit goes a long way!
Optional Toppings:
Purple cabbage - You can also use a coleslaw mix or a simple slaw for this. Avocado - Sliced or finely chopped. Crumbled cotija cheese - Shrimp recipes always pair well with cheese! Cilantro - For garnish.
How To Make Air Fry Shrimp Tacos
I make this recipe in my Cosori 5.8 qt. air fryer or 6.8 quart air fryer. Depending on your air fryer, size and wattages, cooking time may need to be adjusted 1-2 minutes.
Variations
Add pickled red onions - A great way to add a purse of pickled flavoring! Create your own spicy sauce - Use a little bit of Greek yogurt or sour cream with the sauce mixture to have a whole new dipping sauce creation. Use panko bread crumbs - You can coat shrimp with the panko crumbs and create crispy shrimp! What a fun way to air fry shrimp to get a whole new flavor.
How to Serve
Did I mention that you can easily serve this at any time of the year? It’s perfect for Cinco de Mayo, it’s great for easy dinners, and it’s one of those healthy recipes that you can make a different way each time. To serve on the table, you can assemble and place in a large baking dish.
How to Store
Leftover shrimp just means that you’ll get to eat this recipe again. Just let the ingredients cool down all the way and then store them in an air-tight container. When it’s time to reheat, you can add it back to the air fryer or reheat it in the microwave. Just be sure that you don’t overheat, or you’ll end up with overcooked shrimp.
