Getting rotisserie chicken from the grocery is a quick and easy way to feed the family. What’s not to love? It’s got crisp skin, juicy meat, and seasoned perfectly all around. And, it’s relatively healthy, to boot!  But we all know how frustrating it gets when we accidentally overcook leftover rotisserie. No one wants to eat dried out chicken! Well, thanks to these methods, you can effortlessly reheat your chicken so it stays juicy and delicious.   Are you ready? Let’s get cookin’!

How to Reheat Rotisserie Chicken in the Oven

If you want optimum flavor, reheating in the oven is the best option. Sure, it takes a while (about 20 minutes), but it’s definitely worth it.  With this method, you’ll get crisp on the outside and moist on the inside chicken. And don’t worry, it doesn’t require much effort! Here’s how: Tips:

While some people swear by letting the chicken sit at the counter for 30 minute before reheating, I don’t see the point. I’ve tried it before and it only made my chicken dry. Be sure to cover your dish with its lid or an aluminum foil. Without it, your chicken will dry out and lose its flavor! Don’t worry, you’ll still get a crisp skin because you’ll remove the cover towards the end.Don’t skip on the broth, either. Sure, the chicken will still warm nicely without it. But, it won’t be as moist and flavorful.

How to Reheat Rotisserie Chicken in the Microwave

Taking up only one minute of your time, this is the fastest and easiest method of them all. And don’t worry about overcooking your meat, either. Just follow these steps and you should be okay. Tips: There’s no need to cover your chicken with a plate or damp paper towel, like some sites recommend. I’ve tried that, and it didn’t make any difference. Stick to a high setting when reheating chicken. Reheating at a lower setting takes so long, and it doesn’t really do anything for your chicken. It can actually dry up your chicken and lose its flavor.  There’s also no point in adding water to the bottom of your dish for moisture. That will only make the skin sag!  The only key here is to reheat in 30- to 60-second increments. That alone is enough to give you juicy and great-tasting leftover chicken.

How to Reheat Rotisserie Chicken in the Stovetop

If you don’t have 20 minutes to spare, reheating in the stovetop is your next best option. This method takes 5 to 7 minutes total, and it’s perfect for reheating smaller pieces.  Here’s how: Tips:

Go easy on the oil. In fact, the less oil, the better! Too much of it will overcook the chicken, not to mention, will make the chicken greasy and taste like oil.Make sure to stir constantly. You’ll overcook the meat if you let it sit in one spot for too long.I don’t recommend this method for larger slices of chicken, because it won’t warm evenly.Keep in mind that since you’re reheating with oil, the chicken will be greasier than it was before. As such, I don’t recommend eating it as is.
